Hi folks, here's what we did today,

-took up 2 problem questions from the practice quiz... remember: make sure to follow the steps when drawing lewis diagrams, don't just put electrons where you think they should go. AND polairity TRUMPS # of electrons when determining boiling points.
-group review activity on main topics of unit
-time to work on review questions (see previous post for questions)

Here's what we did today:

-took up question 3 from practice quiz... remember, transition metals become stable with half filled or filled d orbitals and sometimes will steal electrons from an s orbital
-took up reading organizer
-short note (this one is not on the blog as it was on the blackboard and then examples) to learn how to use intermolecular forces to predict boiling points (hardness, etc)
-reviewed four solids that you learned about in group work yesterday
-Practice questions about the 4 solids on an overhead
