Here's what we did today:

SNC 1D4
-worked on presentation planning for half the period
-gravity definitions
-gravity lab

HOMEWORK
1. the planet presentations are on Tuesday and some of you may need to work on them this weekend

SCH 4C
-buy-out, only 6 people in class so we watched "the big bang theory"

HOMEWORK
1. study for your Quest (it's on Thursday next week!)

SBI 4U
-storytime: the tongue
-took up yesterday's handout
-practiced drawing a positive feedback loop
-watched a short youtube video on feedback loops
-went outside in the cold and then did jumping jacks inside to observe the effects of homeostasis on our bodies
-reading organizer about thermoregulation

HOMEWORK
1. finish thermoregulation organizer
2. work on your STSE (due next wed (dec 15) OR Mon Jan 3

Thursday Dec 9

Here's what we did on Thursday;

SNC 1D4
-we did the risk analysis for the planets
-some groups started working on their presentations

HOMEWORK
1. finish the risk analysis if it wasn't done in class

SCH 4C
-took up #2 from yesterday's practice sheet on the board as many people had issues with it
-one ppm question on board as daily practice
-Dilution fill-in note
-Dilution practice: p136 #19-22

HOMEWORK
1. study for your Quest- it's on Thursday next week

SBI 4U
-defined Homeostasis
-Watched an introductory video on Homeostasis
-Activity--- one hand in warm water, other in cold
-fill-in the blank sheet while reading section 7.1

Wednesday Dec 8

Tuesday Dec 7

Here's what we did today:

SNC 1D4
-last observation for Ecoschools and wrote up good copy
-visit from Mrs. Rao-Peters to talk about option sheets (which you won't get until February)
-some time to do planet research

HOMEWORK
1. you could work on planet research if you like... but you will get more time with the computers tomorrow

SCH 4C
-small practice sheet to review yesterday's lesson about molar concentration
-recap fill-in note about percentage concentrations
-big concentration practice sheet

HOMEWORK
1. you can finish today's practice sheet if you didn't get it done in class

SBI 4U
-talked about RFLPs and sanger sequencing as a class to review yesterday
-group review of all topics taught in the unit
-questions on cards and "mingling" to get them answered
-free study time

1. study study study study!!! (your test is TOMORROW!!) ...remember to come see me in Rm 123 at lunch tomorrow if you need help!

-storytime: arsenic life forms!! (and age-reversed mice!)
-15 minutes to get your "basic biotech" handout from Wednesday (when many people were on music field trip) done.
-The cloning process (drawing on overhead and youtube video)
-short basic PCR note
-PCR songs

HOMEWORK
1. get caught up on any notes or other important homework you may have not done during the week(s) of the unit
2. Do the PCR practice sheet I handed out for homework
3. start your test review (see wednesday's post for questions)
